I have been lurking for a little bit and enjoyed myself and learned so much I just signed up. Thanks for all the good information. I have been doing some shopping and am trying to narrow things down further a bit. I currently have a no frills Old Town Voyager 11.1. Nice boat I picked up used and the price was good, but I am looking for something more angler-friendly.

I am 6'3" and 220 and live next to Lake Martin in Breaux Bridge-right next to it actually. I also have access to a large pond, but will undoubtably be using the kayak for other still water trips as well. I like the length of my 11 footer and did purchase a Old Town Vapor Angler 10xt and promptly returned it feeling very confined and finding it difficult to paddle. Any advice is welcome and appreciated.

I have a tight budget of $700 or below, so if anyone has one for sale or knows somewhere to look for used ones beyond the usual internet suspects, I'd appreciate that advice as well.

+1 on what YAL said. Fine boat + great price. This is a boat you could buy and keep a very long time instead of buying several boats always looking to upgrade. If you are in the market and have the cash ready to go give GLWLSU a pm (private message) on this and pull the trigger. You will not be sorry!

Hope it doesn't happen again for awhile. It did take a BIG red out the back and a 3 1/2 foot wave from the other side but that **** happens.
