I had posted some information about this trolling motor before mardi gras and remembered finding some interest. They now have a website with full demo videos of how the process works. I'm thinking about buying the materials and giving this a try. Also gonna email the company and get a quote on shipping. Think it might be a little pricey though to get shipped here. Looks like a nice cheap rigging for a Hobie Kayak if you can successfully make it. Anyone interested in getting together and seeing if we can build one of these. 2 heads are better than 1 for ideas.

Don't have a Hobie (yet lol) but from our conversation prior I did order two (2) pucks and have them to "play" with.....so, let me know and I am in!

I have one of the extra plugs too. After watching the videos I'm trying to figure out some way to lock the motor into place into the plug. Thinking pvc may be a good option.

Nice looking set up. Looks like you would have to have about 13" to 14" of water under the boat to run with the motor raised. That would make it very difficult to use in some of the ponds (like Magnolia) we fish. I can run in 8" of water under the keel of mine and have to pull it up at times. Still looks like a sweet setup for open water.

I'm really interested in it for the longer range trips. Places like going to the rock dam in BSM or getting to the Sulphur mine. Would make it a much easier trip on a windy day.

The price of this one is pocket change compared to the one they had at Demo day, or at Backpacker. That one runs $2000

I've seen that one, I think it's called the evolve. Thats a nice system but at $2000 they can keep it. Im gonna do my research and see if I can build it, if not I will order one from these guys.
