Unless it is a transom mount, most all trolling motors mount to some kind of plate / bracket. Kayaks are even important to have a bracket or plate. You might look at bassyaks to see how some of the mounting options look on different yaks depending on what you have or thinking about. They do sell just the brackets although you can probably make one in some cases just as easy.

The wireless trolling motor is the "bomb". I had one for a while on my stinkpot and sold it to a friend of mine. Really cool but lots of weight as well.

I cant find a weight on it,
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gXbL-lovaX8 here is a video with one on a kayak. It doesnt seem to be bothered with too much weight.

If you want to be able to raise the motor without foot braces/rudder controls, you will need at least two ropes back to the motor. One rope is needed to operate the lever unlocking the motor shaft allowing it to be raised and another to pull up the motor. I've never looked at wireless models closely, but the mount appears different than standard motors. Not sure how easy it will be able to add something to raise the motor. Cool, but I don't know if it would be worth the price. Rudder controls work pretty well operating a standard motor.

I don't know where or what type of battery he had stashed in that 'lil yak, but I bet it couldn't have lasted more than that 6 minute video he made of it.

Yeah i looked at how it raises/tilts and i will need 2 ropes but that should be easy to rig up. I dont have a rudder or foot controls (cobra fish and dive) and dont really want to add any thats why i was looking at the wireless trolling motor. The cost doesnt bother me, if it works and i am catching fish that makes all the money i spent worth it.

I have a wireless mounted on my party barge and it works great with a wireless foot control. The trolling motor is not that heavy. I remove and reattach every time I go out. Also it releases, raises and lowers with just one rope. The rope releases the catch and lowers the motor at the same time.
