free dozen flies

The Orvis store in Baton Rouge is giving away a dozen trout flies or a $24 credit towards the purchase of a dozen of any other flies. A neighbor friend of mine and I picked out trout flies yesterday afternoon. The trout flies I picked out are good for bluegill and small bass. Don't know how long the promotion will last.

That's what I did. Ask the guys that work there about it. I asked them about it and they handed me a box to put the flies in. The trout flies are the ones that are priced $1.95. I picked up a new fly tying scissor while I was there. I assume the promotion is to get you in the store so you will buy something else.

I'm not soliciting. For reference, I picked up Elk Hair Caddis, Muddler Minnows and Adams. The flies are labled. Most of the trout flies will work for bluegill and small bass. I picked the ones that are more difficult to tie.

I considered getting spoon flies, but they are over $2 and you can't get them for free. You can buy a dozen of those and/or the more expensive flies and get $24 off the price of the dozen. Still a good deal if you buy flies. I doubt the divers are considered trout flies. The Muddler Minnows I picked up were considered trout flies and are similar to the DD.
