One of our members / guest purchased one and I know he took it out but I do not remember who it was. You might search the forum for the review and his thoughts. Also I remember reading about this on the Texas forum as well.

Hope this helps and Good Luck!

My advice is save your money and buy a good boat used.

After fishing out of a Pelican Cast-Away, I'd have to agree with this, but the Ascend looks like a much better boat than the Cast-Away. One of it's biggest flaws is that it's made with a 2 piece hull. Not the brightest idea. At least the Ascend's hull is made from one solid molding and not a top-half welded to a bottom-half.

Doesn't Danny Wray still have a Native Manta Ray for 400?

The Manta Ray for $400 would be a great deal.

be careful buying from Bass Pro Or Cabela's as these Yaks have been sitting in Weather for God only knows as well as as selling seconds. For a few hundred dollars more You can buy a new YAk, and also maybe a good used one for about $500.

You will love it and be addicted after one trip especially if you catch a fish then it is game on! You can always get your money out of a good yak but hard sometimes to get rid of a bad one!

Have you pulled the trigger on a new yak yet? ****'s has a few pretty decent deals right now. I saw a Perception Sport for something like $200 off regular price. Looks like a pretty decent yak for the price.

Looks like a WS Tarpon 120. Confluence Watersports makes both Wilderness Systems and Perception products. I've never paddled that specific kayak but I do own a Tarpon, it's a pretty good kayak. Just looking at it I can tell it's a better kayak than the Ascend or any similar Pelican, budget kayak.

That's the same one I was talking about 2 posts above yours. Looks like a pretty good kayak especially on a budget. Out of the models I saw at ****'s, this is probably the one I would chose.

I saw a Tarpon 120 at Massey's Outfitters in Baton Rouge today for $799. Sweet boat.
